Birthday Prayer For Son

In this post I will address different age groups so that your prayer may be more relatable to your baby boy, toddler, elementary age boy, pre-teen or teenage son, and finally your adult son. 

As we all know, at different times in life we are in need of different understanding, and guidance. Decisions are more and more difficult and courage may be a very stressful situation depending on age. 

Please add your son’s name in place where it is appropriate. These are prayers that can be repeated daily and you may transition as necessary to the next level even if it is before or after the suggested age range.

At the birth of or anytime your baby boy is an infant:

Dear Heavenly Father,

 I/we are so grateful for this wonderful son. Like Joseph and Mary looking down at this baby we/I am overwhelmed by the future and all that it may entail. 

I ask for the wisdom to care for him in every situation that will arise. He is so tiny and there are so many things that I cannot foresee. I ask that You help me/us to make the right decisions every step of the way. 

As he becomes ill I ask that I would be patient in his healing process. As he begins to gain his teeth please cause the pain to be minimal. As he learns to sleep through the night, I ask that you would give me strength and that my/our rest would be sufficient.

When it is time for me to return to work I ask that I would find favor in the eyes of my boss so that I am able to care for this precious gift you have blessed me with.

I pray, that the unconditional love I feel for him at this moment will be extended and even increased with each beautiful day he is here with me.

Help me, Lord Jesus, to teach my baby boy to make right choices for a happier life. Thank you, God, In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Special Birthday Prayers:

Dear God, Thank You for this past year filled with growth for all of us. Thank You for each precious memory that I/we will cherish of my/our dearest son.

I/we know this is just the beginning of great things for our precious son.

As we look back at every stage so far it is truly amazing at all that we have grown through. Thank You again, dear Lord.

In this coming year may he learn quickly of God’s goodness and be overwhelmed by lots of love from his family. 

As the sun shines (even in the rain) on each day may this good child experience so much joy and tenderness from those around him.

Continue to fill his life with good things and true friends. Fill me/us with divine wisdom as he grows and enjoys a long life.

Thank You again Dear Lord for the special gift of our/my beloved son, amen.

Happy Birthday Prayers for a Toddler:

Thank You, Dear Heavenly Father for the gift of life during this last year. Our son has become quite the problem solver. His play time has increased into a fun time of learning of the wonderful works of His creator. 

As we start this new year today, I ask that he would be able to begin to comprehend true happiness comes from experiencing the good heart of the almighty God.

And Dear God, on this, our son’s birthday I/we pray that he would be blessed with the good fortune of experiencing each day as a unique day to learn about your gift of a son; Your only son, Jesus.

Teach me to appreciate every opportunity you give me to dwell in your presence and learn how to show him the gifts of the Holy Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Thank You, Lord for the new age of the best son ever! Amen

Prayer on This Special Day of Your Birth:

May God answer my special prayer for you, my son on this big day!

Good Lord, the blessing you gave me/us is another year older today which has made this a happy life for me/us. One of the best things that You have every done for me/us has also made me/us a better person (better people). 

Thank You for allowing me to be a part of his life. I pray that he is reminded of my/our instructions and able to make good decisions.

I/we ask that my/our wonderful son would be the happiest person he can be. And that You would give him the great blessing of a dear friend that would walk with our precious son as they learn together God’s purpose and plan for their lives.

From this special day of your life forward, I pray that you would obtain God’s blessings and may the Lord surround you all the days of your life.

While you go to school I demand that all forms of evil be blocked from you. I implore our Father in Heaven to send His angels to uplift and guide you in all your ways.

I believe that the knowledge of God that I/we have taught you will be the important part of all the days of your wonderful life. When you find trouble lurking behind a door, God’s divine touch will shield you.

May you find favor in the hearts of men of God that they would continually lift you up in their prayers and be willing to direct you back to Jesus.

Prayer For A Rebellious Teenager:

I pray to God, and His Dear Son, Jesus. In the past years I/we have lifted our son up in prayer, teaching him about salvation, the gift of God that is most important. 

We/I have taught him of the great prosperity of living through the vitality of the Lord.

As he began this new chapter of life he has forgotten these imperative teachings and strayed from the path of righteousness. He has temporarily determined to rebel. 

Oh, God, praise Your mighty name. I do not believe for an instant that You have removed Your hand from his life or erased his name from the palm of Your hand. His life today does not represent the instructions given to him throughout his life.

You promised in Your Word that if I raise my child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it. I believe Your promises are for me and my/our son. 

I/we look forward to the wonderful day when he will return to Your Kingdom and take his place in the path of Your goodness. I know that the desires of Your heart are for him to spend eternity with You.

The angels in Your presence await the moment when they will rejoice at his return as well. You gave them charge over our lovely son from the day of his birth. I trust that they are fighting the hard fight and that in the right time they will win.

During this trying period of life I/we ask that we are granted strength to never give up and to continually lift him before Your great throne. One day being the great man of God he was called and purposed to be.

On that great day, we will all rejoice at the fantastic birthday celebration of a prodigal child returning home.

Again, Oh, God, I ask for strength, wisdom, and favor as I lift up to You my most precious gift, my child. I will never understand the immense cost of Jesus’ death and the horror of watching Him as He wept in the garden. 

I would not have had the courage or desire to see Him take the place of the sinful, wretched world. But, Father, I/we are ever so grateful for Your selfless act of grace toward us. 

Thank You, that even in the midst of such a tremendous act of rebellion You desire for our/my son to return to You and spend forever with You. Thank You for not ever giving up on any of us. 

Blessings to You on this dark day of my/our life. Forgive him Father for he knows not what he has done. Amen.

Prayers for a Grown Son:

Best Wishes to my sweet son on the anniversary of your birth. Happy Birthday wishes for lovely living and good health. May all the birthday blessings I have prayed for you be brought to fruition.

May the good Lord keep you in His loving care and grant you the desires of your heart. May you enjoy great prosperity and be filled with all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. 

I ask God for a wonderful birthday and a tremendous new year. May God’s goodness cover you with lots of love and block all forms of evil from your life.

Prayers for God’s purpose to be fully imagined in you. May the good Lord surround you and keep you until that great day when we will all dance together at His throne.

May you be blessed with the gift of a son for yourself so that you may experience all the wonders of parenthood that I/we were so blessed to live.

My love and thankfulness to the creator of the universe for allowing me/us to wish you a happy birthday, son. May every year be an even more joyous and blessed birthday.
