Does God Love Everyone?

A question that everyone wonders about from time to time, does God love me? Does God love everyone? This blog will dive deep into God’s Word in response to this question as well as giving examples of His love changing even the hardest hearts. Read further to understand where you fit into God’s plan.

God loves everyone, no matter who they are or what they have done. His love is perfect and never-ending, and He wants us to experience that love for ourselves within a personal relationship with Himself.

No one deserves God’s love, but the good news is that the God of Love desires to have a personal relationship with each and every one of us. God’s character is Love itself, so we can be confident that His love is always good and true. If we allow Him, God will fill our hearts with His love and transform our lives completely.

Scripture tells us that “God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him would not die but have eternal life” (John 3:16). This shows us just how far God is willing to go to show His love for us. He wants us to experience the fullness of His love, and He is waiting for us to come to Him. Are you ready to experience God’s love for yourself?

God’s Love Displayed In The Old Testament:

1. God created everything out of love. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

2. God disciplines those he loves. “My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.” (Proverbs 3:11-12)

3. God loves us unconditionally. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

4. God is patient with us. “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

5. God is always good. “Taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” (Psalm 34:8)

6. God’s love never fails. “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54:10)

7.God’s love is eternal. “Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.” Psalm 136:2

8. God is always with us. “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

God’s love is shown throughout the entire Bible, and these are just a few examples. God loves us unconditionally and offers forgiveness, strength, provision, and discipline out of that love. He is always with us and His love never fails. Taste and see that the Lord is good!

Does God Love Everyone? A few verses in the New Testament to show the continuation of God’s love for the whole world:

1. God provides for us. “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

2. God forgives us when we repent. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

3. God gives us strength. “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

4. God demonstrates the greatest love. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

5.God’s heart for us never changes. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

When Did God’s Love Begin?

How do we know when God’s love began? The Bible tells us that God is love (1 John 4:8). So, if God is love, then His love must have always existed.

It didn’t start at a certain point in time; it has always been there. God is eternal. A concept which I will explore in more depth further down in this article.

We also see evidence of God’s love in creation. Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” When we look at the beauty and complexity of the world, it shows us just how much God loves us since He created everything for our benefit and enjoyment.

God’s love is also seen in His Son, The Christ, Jesus. God sent Jesus to die for our sins so that we could have eternal life (John 3:16). This is the ultimate expression of God’s love for us.

The apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Romans (5:8) “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

He did not wait until we could make ourselves right in His sight, He knew this was impossible, so instead as the verse above declares, He sent his Son to declare openly that His unconditional love would pay the wages of sin which humanity had taken on itself.

What Is The Cost Of Sin?

So, sin has a cost. Genesis 2: 17 explains that God laid out the only rule Adam and Eve had to live by. He also gave the consequences of the potential rebellion of His first created children. “but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2). And the penalty for sin is death. But because of His covenant love for us, Jesus was willing to pay that price. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

Leviticus 5:6,10 As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering; and the priest shall make  atonement for them for their sin. 10) The priest shall then offer the other as a burnt offering in the prescribed way and make atonement for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.

A perfect white lamb, representing the perfect lamb of God.

What an amazing expression of God’s love for us! He loves us so much that He was willing to die in our place so that we could be with Him forever.

The sacrifice required for disobedience, and rebellion (sin) was the blood of a perfect lamb, one without any blemish. The lamb could have no marks, not even a freckle. It was checked completely by the one offering it and again by the priest accepting it.

In all of the Heavens and Earth, there was no one that could take the place of that lamb. Even the angels were not perfect. So, God, through His Holy Spirit caused Mary to become pregnant, thus taking on the form of a single person, a lowly baby that would grow up experiencing all that humanity has to experience.

Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? (John 14:9) God took the position of the perfect lamb through the physical life of His Son.

God is most definitely a God of Love, at the same time He is a God of Justice. “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)

In order to allow for the children of God to join Him in His Eternal Home, Heaven, He found a different way. God’s wrath would be atoned for by the permanence of His perfect Son’s blood.

The first sin resulted in God killing an animal and ‘covering’ the first two people in order to represent what His Son would one day do. Genesis 3:21 The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

How Do We Know God Loves Everyone?

Great question. The holiness of the Lord hates sin, (rebellion against Him, disobedience toward His Word, missing the impossible mark of perfection) but, in His unmatched benevolent love for all of the human race, God set forth a plan from the foundation of the world.

Reading through the Bible one would find clues to the difficult doctrine of the love of God. At this time, because of technology, we have accessible Biblical teaching and explanations of practical applications of the truth of God throughout the entire world in seconds.

God’s genuine love is memorized in popular children’s songs, such as Jesus Loves Me. The Lord’s holy people are taught to express true love as did our Lord Jesus Christ. While Jesus walked the Earth, the Son of Man as He was also known, He expressed God’s special love:

And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew recorded this in chapter 18 verse 3. In this He tried to explain that God wants us not to lean on what we can understand, but simply put our faith in God’s providential Love.

This surprising answer confused the Jewish leaders of the time. They believed His affection was solely for the sons of Abraham, His holy nation and found it difficult to believe in the universal love of God. They had no intention of allowing outsiders to become sons of God.

So, this question has been posed throughout time. The Biblical answer is that the wonderful plan God had intended from the beginning was to prove His love for everyone and to use the Jewish nation to present Him to others.

Their misunderstanding of God’s universal love caused the death of His Son as they considered Him to be a heretic. That is the good reason God allowed the Gentiles (non-Jews) to enter into a personal relationship with The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

Romans 11:13-14  I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry 14 in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. This was written by Paul under the anointing of The Holy Spirit of God.

How Do We Express True Love?

We express true love by electing to love others unconditionally. This means that we accept them for who they are, without judgment, or condition. We see them as equals, and we treat them with the same respect, consideration, and kindness that we would want for ourselves.

This can be a challenge at times, but it is important to remember that we all have inherent worth and value. Everyone deserves to be loved and accepted for who they are. When we can see others through this lens of unconditional love, it opens up a whole new world of connection and possibility.

What does it mean to be a Christian? This blog explains further

The second point here is this: It is not about our church life, or our good works that allow us to gain that personal relationship with our creator. Our part is simply to accept Jesus’ death and resurrection as the atonement for our personal sins and to tell others of God’s great love.

God’s part is to love them so much that they want to change their ways and be like Him. Since we can not live a perfect life, it is the will of god for us to draw close to Him until we naturally become more like Him.

The Following Passages Explain Further:

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. Proverbs 17:17

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons. Acts 10:34 (King James Version)

I can do all things through Christ, who strengtheneth me. Proverbs 4:13 (KJV)

The Word of God shows us exactly how to accept and how to express God’s true love to those around us. Through the Christian faith, we are not perfect like Him, but we continue the process of this free gift of salvation until our last day.

God/Jesus is that forever friend, as well as the sovereign ruler of the universe. He is the king above all other kings (or rulers) and at the same time the Father that watches out for His wayward or prodigal children to return to Him.

Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Common Questions About this Wonderful Plan:

How can I be sure that God loves me?

The answer is found in scripture, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 This verse shows us that it doesn’t matter how much we have sinned, God loves us enough to send His Son to die for our sins. God wants to have a personal relationship with you!

What if I am not perfect?

No one is perfect except God. We all fall short of His glory. (Romans 3:23) But because God sent His Son to die for our sins, we can have a personal relationship with God. (John 3:16) God knows that we are not perfect, but He loves us anyway.

What if I have sinned too much?

Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, Mark 3:28. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” Acts 10:43

What if I am not ready to accept Jesus?

Maybe you are not ready yet, and that’s okay, God is patient and He will wait for you. But don’t wait too long because we never know when our time on earth will end. Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12

P.S. (Plain and Simple) Does God Love Everyone?

The answer is simple: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) God loves us unconditionally and completely. All we need to do is accept His love and tell others about it. Acts 16:31 Believe on The Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household.
